Talks & Lectures

Over the years, I have been asked to give a talk or a lecture to schools, colleges and Universities on my work so I developed a range of talks that are bookable in advance that may help with delivering your curriculum or course.

The talks / lectures range from half hour speaking sessions with Q&A’s to full-on 3 hour workshops and prices vary accordingly.

Between the months of February through to April is the best time to book us for a talk or lecture as seasonally this is when we have the most time available. Once the summer hits, we are knitting for the next A/W season.

Berni Raeside Lecture Textiles

Our lectures include:

Self Employment for Creatives

Aimed at 2nd and 3rd year students, this lecture is designed to help creative students look at the idea of self-employment and what it might mean for them when they graduate. Most universities prepare students extremely well for employment, but being self employed is a whole other ball game. Berni goes through what you can expect from your first years, how to identify if your product or service is actually a real business opportunity or just an idea, the basics of marketing, official stuff like legalities, tax, training etc… and business plans. As a successful business owner, marketer and textile design graduate with her own craft knitwear brand, Berni is ideally placed to present a professional, well rounded lecture that will explain the nuances of becoming self-employed and what to expect once your ideal is viable and you’ve made the leap.

Textiles, Fashion, Design, PR, Marketing Consultancy, Stylists, Crafts, Applied Arts, Artists, Illustrators and more.
